Camping

Wake up in fresh air with the sounds of birds and nature around you. Turon Gates has one of the best camping grounds in NSW.

The campsite is situated in a valley in the Blue Mountains 2.5 hours from Sydney city with

a kilometre of camping along the pristine Turon River.

Sitting around a campfire, away from the city lights, you will experience clear starry skies as never before.

This is natural bush camping.

Family and pet friendly, amenities include hot showers and washrooms and outdoor sinks with hot running water

to wash dishes in and are cleaned regularly.

Sites are not powered and they are not allocated - just pick the place you like and set up your camp!

For more information about our campground facilities see below and our FAQ.

Camping sites must be booked in advance online. Feel free to contact us with any queries through our website, email or phone.

PLEASE NOTE:

We know guests prefer to pick their site over an allocated one so we are happy for you to choose your own and you and your friends can easily camp together. You can park your car at your camp - very convenient. We hope with a large camping field, the freedom to pick your own site and recently renovated amenities, you will return again and again. We have families who have been coming to the Turon Gates Campground for generations!!

Our sites are not powered and we don't allow generators, chainsaws or loud music in the camping ground as it disturbs the enjoyment of other guests. There are limited 240V power points for you to blow up mattresses or charge devices.

Turon offers natural camping with wildlife and horses. Unfortunately we have not succeeded in toilet training the horses, geese or kangaroos and some of them are escape artists - there may be animal droppings in places and we recommend that you secure your food to prevent the horses being able to access it, especially at night after going to sleep and any time you leave your camp unattended.

WEATHER

The weather at Turon Gates is completely different to Sydney, Lithgow and Mudgee which can be confusing. For instance, it could be raining in Lithgow or Sydney and completely sunny at Turon Gates. It's usually a few degrees cooler at Turon than in Sydney so it's a great place to escape the summer heat. Click here for the current weather forecast.
